VowCrew
Everything you need to know about getting started, your role in the wedding party, and how each part of VowCrew works.
Tap Login/Sign Up, tell us whether you're the Bride, the Groom, or in the wedding party, and fill in your name, phone, email, and a password. Add a profile photo if you'd like — you can always add one later. We'll send a confirmation email; click the link there to activate your account.
After you sign up, we'll ask if you already have a wedding party code. If this is your first time, choose "I don't have a code, I need one for my crew" — we'll generate a unique code for your wedding on the spot and show it to you right on your Home screen. That's the code you'll share with everyone you want in your crew.
You'll need a wedding party code from the Bride or Groom. Once you have it, sign up, choose "I'm in a Wedding Party," pick your role (Bridesmaid, Groomsman, Maid of Honor, Best Man, or general Wedding Party), and enter the code when prompted.
Reach out to the Bride or Groom directly — they can find their wedding's code anytime from the Wedding Crew panel on their Home screen and text or email it to you. VowCrew doesn't have a way to look up or request a code on your own, since it's private to that wedding party.
The Bride and Groom can edit the wedding's home details (date, location, photo), always post to the Newsfeed, decide who else gets Newsfeed posting access, remove members from the party, and edit or delete any event, expense, or shop item — not just their own. Everyone else can freely add events, expenses, and shop items too; they just can't edit or delete something someone else created (unless they created it themselves).
Mostly it comes down to the Newsfeed's private side feeds — Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids see the "Bachelorettes" feed alongside the Bride, and Best Man and Groomsmen see the "Bachelors" feed alongside the Groom. Beyond that, day-to-day access to Chats, Events, Expenses, and Shop is the same for every wedding party role.
Any member of the wedding party — not just the Bride and Groom — can find the code in the Wedding Crew panel on Home and share it via text or email right from there.
The Bride and Groom always can. Everyone else needs posting access granted individually — until then, they can still like and comment on anything posted, just not post themselves.
From Settings, the Bride or Groom can open "Newsfeed Access" and toggle on whichever members they'd like to be able to post — or hit Select All to open it up to everyone.
Alongside the main "Whole Crew" feed, there are two private feeds: "Bachelorettes" (visible to the Bride, Maid of Honor, and Bridesmaids) and "Bachelors" (visible to the Groom, Best Man, and Groomsmen) — a spot for side-specific planning the other side doesn't see.
Anyone in the wedding party can start a new chat — the whole crew at once, or just a few people. Give it a name, pick who's in it, and you're set.
Whoever created the chat, or the Bride/Groom, can rename it, change its photo, add or remove members, or delete it entirely.
Anyone in the wedding party can add an event from the Events tab — just fill in the title, date, and as much else (time, location, description, a photo) as you'd like. Editing or deleting an event afterward is limited to whoever created it, or the Bride/Groom.
When you create an event, you can choose exactly who sees it — everyone, or just specific roles (say, only the Bride's side for a bachelorette trip). Anyone not included simply won't see the event at all.
If you turn on the Flights section for an event, any member who can see that event can add their own flight details — and everyone who can see the event sees everyone else's flights too, so it's easy to coordinate rides and arrival times.
Whoever created the event (or the Bride/Groom) can add a "Stay" — a title, a link, and a photo — so the crew always has where-to-book info in one place.
Anyone can start an Expense Group for anything the crew is splitting — a bachelorette trip, a group gift, whatever it is. Add whoever's involved, and the group stays private to just its members.
Split it evenly, enter exact amounts per person, or — for a receipt with a lot of different items — split it by item, so everyone only pays for what they actually got.
For a By Item split, snap a photo of the receipt and VowCrew scans it for you, turning it into a list of individual items. From there, each person goes in and marks which items (and how many) were theirs. VowCrew works out their share automatically, tax and tip included.
Inside each Expense Group, you'll see your own balance with each other member — what you owe them, or what they owe you. It's just between the two of you, not a group-wide ledger everyone can see.
Required is for the must-haves — think bridesmaid dresses or groomsmen suits. Suggested is for nice-to-haves and gift ideas. VowCrew's Picks are items our team has curated and recommend, which anyone can browse and add straight to their own Required or Suggested list.
Yes — anyone in the wedding party can add a Required or Suggested item. Editing or removing an item afterward is limited to whoever added it, or the Bride/Groom.
Some of the outbound shopping links in VowCrew are affiliate links — VowCrew earns a small commission on qualifying purchases made through them, at no extra cost to you.
Open the item and tap Mark as Purchased. Anyone who can see that item can also see who's already purchased it, so the crew doesn't accidentally double up.
You'll get notified for things like new members joining, likes and comments on your posts, new events, being added to a chat or expense group, flight details being shared, and new shop items you can see. There's one Push Notifications toggle in Settings that turns all of this on or off at once.
Head to Settings — you can update your name, photo, phone number, and Instagram handle right there.
Enter your new email in Settings and we'll send a confirmation link to it. Your email on file won't actually change until you click that link, so hang onto access to your old inbox until you do.
Leaving is for any member (except the Bride/Groom) who wants to step away from a wedding party — you'll lose access, but anything you've posted or added stays, credited to you. Archiving is a Bride/Groom-only action that closes the whole wedding party down; it's one-way from inside the app, so if you ever need it reopened, just email us.
From Settings, anyone can permanently delete their account — it removes your name, email, phone, and photo for good. Anything you've posted or added stays visible to your crew, just credited to "Removed User" instead of you.
You can report a specific message or post directly from the app, or block a member from the Wedding Crew panel so you no longer see their content. Blocking only affects your own view — it doesn't notify or restrict them.
